Ramblers
The monthly rambles have been happening for 21 years. In each year some 50 people have taken part, but the average turnout is about 13. The ambles are similarly attended, but started only 7 years ago and occur quarterly. The rambles are typically of 5½ miles and range far and wide on Sunday afternoons, while the ambles at a slower pace over easier terrain, cover about 3 miles and are more local on Thursday mornings.
Yet they have much in common. There is always a break for refreshments. They exercise the mind as well as the body and provide a stimulus for conversation and fellowship in all weathers.
